Nettles (aka Stinging Nettles) are a perennial herb that is native to Europe, temperate parts of Asia, and Northern Africa, but it is now naturalized in wet climates around the world! These plants grow 3-6 feet tall, have green serrated leaves, and have tons of hollow hairs (tricomes) that can sting you. These tricomes become neutralized when cooked, steamed, boiled or when the plant is harvested and dried. Nettle Leaves have tons of culinary uses and beneficial properties and is perfect for making herbal teas, infusions, or adding to soups and broths.
