The Banana Melon is a unique and delicious heirloom variety that dates back to at least the mid 1800’s(probably much earlier)! The fruit are elongated, somewhat smooth, between 16-24 inches long, and usually range from 5-10 pounds. When fully ripe the flesh is juicy, super sweet, and has a tropical smell when you cut into them. If you have a longer growing season the Banana Melon is a great choice!
